Willie Nelson Doll In Progress -a needle felted caricature doll

Well, I started a new needle felted creation and decided to share a glimpse of my little Willie Nelson doll in progress. When starting a caricature I have to take charge of the wool in ways that I don’t have to do when just developing a character out of my imagination.

I start out with printing out all kinds of images, watching music videos and even movies to get myself uber-acquainted with the nuances of the real character I’m about to create in needle felted wool.

What fun I am having!! Willie will look much more like Willie when he gets a neck – I am learning that our necks really define what we look like! I will post again when Willie is complete but I love this stage and had to share my Willie Nelson doll in progress!
