Felt Alive Wool Sculptures (“Felt Alive,” “we,” “us”) runs this shop. This page matches what the site actually does.

What we collect
When you browse
Your cart is stored in your browser (local storage) so the needles you pick are still there if you come back. We do not run Google Analytics or ad trackers on this shop.
When you check out
Guest checkout is allowed. We ask for name, email, street, city, state, and ZIP so we can pack the order and send tracking. We use that to:
- Send order confirmation and USPS tracking
- Ship felting needles
- Handle refunds, damage, and questions
- Process payment and help prevent fraud
- Keep tax and accounting records (about 7 years)
When you create an account
Optional. We store your name, email, a hashed password (we cannot read the password), and whether the email is confirmed. Confirmed emails can post reviews. You can delete the login from your account page; we keep the order record for tax.
Mailing list
Only if you join the footer form, or if you were already on Felt Alive’s old newsletter. Buying needles does not add you to the list. You can leave any time from your account, or with the unsubscribe link we put on newsletter emails.
Reviews and contact
Reviews you post (name, place, stars, what you wrote) can appear on the site. The contact form sends your message to the studio inbox (support@feltalive.com).
Payments and shipping
Cards go through Stripe. PayPal payments go through PayPal. Felt Alive never sees or stores a full card number. EasyPost buys USPS labels; USPS gets the name and address needed to deliver the parcel.
Hosting and email
The site is hosted on Vercel. Order and account data live in a Neon Postgres database. Studio email (confirmations, password reset, tracking) is sent through Proton Mail. Those companies process data for us; we do not sell it.
Videos
Learn pages embed YouTube (privacy-enhanced / youtube-nocookie). When you press play, YouTube may collect data under its own policy.
Cookies
We only set what the shop needs. We do not use marketing cookies or a third-party ad pixel. No cookie banner — there is nothing optional to accept.

Who sees it
Kay and Ethan (studio admins) can see orders, customers, and the mailing list so packages go out and questions get answered. We do not sell your information. We do not sell or share it for cross-context advertising (California).
Your choices
- Your account — leave the mailing list or delete your login
- Unsubscribe — use the link in a newsletter
- Email support@feltalive.com for a copy of what we hold, or to ask us to delete what we are not required to keep
Order records (what you bought and where we shipped it) stay about 7 years for tax and accounting. Clearing this site’s data in your browser removes the cart on that device.
EU, UK, and California
If you are in the EU or UK, we use your checkout details to perform the contract (ship your needles). The mailing list is consent — you can withdraw it any time. You may ask for access, correction, or deletion of account and mailing data. If you are in California, you can ask what we collect and tell us not to sell it (we don’t).
How we protect it
The site is served over HTTPS. Passwords are hashed. Payment details are handled by Stripe and PayPal, not stored here.
